Week01_Prototype


Since this  is our first Devlog let's start with the basic idea for the game:

Our idea is to create a 4 player top-down couch co-op game where you will be put in 2 teams trying to save your own train

The players will be able to deal damage to each other's trains using a variety of guns and items

The team that first destroys the other train wins


So, what have we tested/implemented?

As far as full-on gameplay goes we have not been able to fully test it yet since we are still tinkering with the core mechanics so some of our ideas/implementations are still subject to change over the course of the prototyping fase

What we are already sure of is the camera, a simple top-down perspective is all that we need for this type of game


We also had some trouble trying to get comfortable with Unreal Engine 4 since we have never coded for it before so the coding process went a bit slower than usual

The reason we decided to go for Unreal Engine 4 is because it is a powerful engine with a lot of features already built into it.

All things considered our first step into UE4 development was a slightly difficult one but a good one since it taught us a lot of new things and offered us to experiment with it.

Over the course of the next week we are hoping to finally get a fully functional prototype with  most of the  features already implemented
